You like to think

That we’re all floating on a river

Of pure clean water

Heading right back in to the sea

But the blue sea chokes

On ribbons of silver

Wondering why there’s far too many people

Floating back into me

Then you’re in your boat

And you’re following the river

Meandering gently back down

Into the sea

And you’re full of hope

That as long as you’re together

You can handle anything

That’s thrown up by the sea

Standing all alone

Between the sa and the river

My thoughts drift out from the mptiness

In front of me

Maybe there’s too much choice

And just not enough illusion

And that confuses my way

Of thinking clearly

But it’s the only way to cope

When you’re presented with a river

That won’t stop flowing 'til

It reaches the sea

Du gillar att tänka

Att vi alla flyter på en flod

Av rent rent vatten

På väg tillbaka till havet

Men det blå havet kvävs

På band av silver

Undrar varför det är alldeles för många människor

Flyter tillbaka in i mig

Då är du i din båt

Och du följer floden

Slingrar sig försiktigt ner

Ut i havet

Och du är full av hopp

Det så länge ni är tillsammans

Du klarar vad som helst

Som kastas upp av havet

Står helt ensam

Mellan sa och floden

Mina tankar glider ut från tomheten

Framför mig

Kanske finns det för mycket val

Och bara inte tillräckligt med illusion

Och det förvirrar mitt sätt

Att tänka klart

Men det är det enda sättet att klara sig

När du presenteras för en flod

Det kommer inte att sluta flöda förrän

Den når havet
