Guests of every country

Rented homes and souls

We’re in between of something

Unexplained to me

We caught ourselves crying

Every Sunday’s eve

Mama’s smile was gone now

Nana stopped to sing

Papa’s stories were brooding

Of a glorious time

What we lost when we left

What we left behind

And the lesson was one

Gloomy with no hope

Spoken, sung and bitter

Bloody, sad and true
