Breath After Breath - Craving

I woke up in a dreamlike state

With rotten mind’s insanity

To bear another day on earth

This constant cold reality

I dwelled this place for many years

Fed images to my tortured mind

Remember days of love and joy

A misty path I left behind

I’m but a shadow of myself

Rejected by the claws of death

I cannot live, nor can I die

Forced to exist, breath after breath

I sacrificed my epitaph

To walk the earth forever, as

A slave to anxious lunacy

In bittersweet endeavor

I cross the pathways of my youth

Replaceable imageries

Anachronism, alien

No face attracts my memory

The ashen remains of my past

No future left to be unveiled

My body’s shattered, soul condemned

The bitter truth is: I have failed

The dream of immortality

We can’t refuse, we can’t resist

The final frontier of mankind

Eradicated by the blind

Superior technology

Biomechanical vanity

Time only will reveal

Defeat and Sorrow

I am just an avatar

My body feels no pain

Computerizing motions

Right through my wired brain

To regain my emotions

I want to feel the pouring rain

That shall corrode my last remains

And wash away the shame
