The other day I took a ride but not in a machine

It was a buggy ride with my sweetie by my side

I’m making love going fifty miles an hour don’t compare with a one horse power

Many cars I rode but give me a buggy ride

My bones were nearly broke

I took it as a joke

It was all new to me

I didn’t, I’ve been used to riding in a big limousine

But buggy riding and loving sure beats any machine

Although I lost my pride

I had a wonderful time

Now since I took that buggy ride that’s all I wanna do

No more machines for me there’s a chance of hitting a tree

Now let me give you some sensible advice

A buggy ride is awfully nice

'Though it’s not the style

The ride sure is worth while, so
