Brokenness - Braille, Believin Stephen

The Lord is looking for those whose hearts are contrite and broken

Mind and emotions consumed by God through time and devotion

Their Bibles are opened, with eyes on Christ they’re focused

Their pride’s eroding, without Christ they realize they’re hopeless

Look at Jacob--wrestled with God, then his hip was broken

God blessed him, changed his name to Israel

What his lips had spoken

Look at Moses, used by God to be breaking the rock

Then water sprayed out the rock, it was hydrating the flock

Look at Judges 7 where you see the army broken

Down to 300 men, the number that God had chosen

So He could get the most glory because the Lord’s amazing

The soldiers had to break their jars before their torches blazing

Pointing to their brokenness, this is getting me hype

Then Gideon fights, defeating the Midianites

I think I figured it out whenever I seen the widow’s account

In 2nd Kings she broke the seal of her jar and the oil’s amount

Multiplied, miraculous, just like the Christ of Nazareth

He broke the bread, folks were fed, the sight is so immaculate

Look at Mary, see her breaking her jar of perfume

Washed Jesus' feet with her own hair, by her God she’s consumed

Look at Jesus' body broken by thorns and the nails

The broken women by the cross, hear their mourns and their wails

Look at Jesus, he was broken at Gethsemane

He suffered God’s wrath, he was broken for his enemies

There ain’t a problem that God can’t fix

His power and His glory is revealed through brokenness

God is with the broken, He’s with me in my brokenness

My body is a tent, it’s a temporary home

While I live in it I groan, I’m weighed down by many burdens

I am certain of a future where my dwelling will be permanent

I’m a servant of my Savior who was broken to determine it

While I’m present in the body, I’m away from the Lord

There’s many troubles in this world--danger, famine, and sword

I could mention more, but in the face of death I’m full of life

'Cause none of it can separate me from the love of Christ

I was saved through his suffering

So even when I’m suffering he comforts me

I am not alone, I’m in good company, yeah

This is the path so many saints walked

But in the end they thanked God

He’s steadfast and faithful, so this is how our faith grows

The Spirit gives us eyes to see the King’s kingdom

Our hope is fixed on when the resurrected King comes

And when he does he’s making all things new

I’m crucified with Christ and God is gonna raise me too
