For the Night

Day by day we live for nothing

We wish the time away Until dusk comes out to play

As we say goodbye to the light

This city sleeps tonight, still we are wide awake

As shadows fall down from the walls they lead the paths we take

No sleep tonight we’ll stay until the sun returns

Then we’ll take it home an kep it going until the sunlight burns

Then we’ll start again

Through bloodshot eyes we find our way

The streetlights seem as bright as day

Familiar faces pass all around

Familiar voices are slowly drowned

This creeping darkness gets pierced by light

As shots start falling long into the night

We start to lose ourselves

The night consumes our hell

As the night grows cold it’s still warm to us

As people start to leave this is home to us

So when it’s time to say goodbye and rest our head and weary eyes

We know that tomorrow will bring so much pleasure and pain

Still we’re yearning to start once again
